Making It Happen Today, For A Better Welland Tomorrow.

It's all about you. It's all about teamwork. It's about looking at the issues, organizing, creating the plan and taking action. While all that is great, it's a cooperative. We all must work together for a thriving, fun and prosperous Welland. One where our citizens are safe, comfortable and receiving the amenities desired. One where our citizens participate in all the City has to offer. One where the City works for its citizens. One where we all work together for the common good!

Why Vote For Debi Katsmar?

Above all else, I will listen. I have an open-door policy for everything I do. I am always at the other end of my email and phone (well except maybe when I'm sleeping). I return emails. I return phone calls. I investigate, and have a knack for getting others enthused in those projects and tasks I take on. I love to research, organize and make things happen. That's what I offer to you!

I'm new to the political world, so I do not have pre-conceived notions of what is possible and what isn't. I have a way of making the impossible, possible. I have a way of getting others motivated. I ask questions. I get answers.

I am looking forward to working with the community and council to bring more initiatives like Trail 150 at Merritt Island - an initiative of the Canada 150 in Welland Committee; continue working on projects for the community like the 8 benches purchased with surplus funds from the Canada 150 in Welland Committee. These benches will be installed this month at various parks and locations throughout Welland. This 16 member committee worked tirelessly to give Welland a year to remember! I enjoyed every moment of working with the committee and I'm looking forward to working with more individuals on other committees, with council and the City of Welland to make it happen today for a better Welland tomorrow.

  • I love to talk
  • I love to listen
  • I love to participate
  • I love to make it happen.

On October 22nd, 2018, vote Debi KATSMAR for Ward 2 in Welland.

Have Your Say

Photo above: Welland Floatfest 2017 taken by Andy Harris of Lev8 Low Level Photography. Welland Floatfest is an initiative of local volunteers who had a vision to use the beautiful waterway here in Welland for a free family event. Through their initiative and planning while working with the City of Welland for permissions and safety concerns, Welland will celebrate the 3rd floatfest on July 8th, 2018. In 2017, I had the pleasure of working with this committee through my business in their GUINNESS World Record attempt for the Longest Line of Inflatables. A feat they achieved! The committee is looking to beat their record this year!
